With nearly 30 years' experience in sales, consulting, and executive leadership, Mike has led and advised on growth, change, and strategic planning and execution in non-profit and corporate organizations, ranging from early stage start-ups to established industry leaders. Mike advises executive teams, sales, marketing and product teams , and investors. He also serves as a coach and training resource for sales and business development teams.
At Grand Rounds, Mike was a high impact executive, transforming and scaling the go-to-market effort and heavily influencing business and product strategy. Mike established a segmented market approach to sales and accounts, driving focus and execution, while recruiting a professional leadership team and high performing talent. He also led efforts to expand the company's Fortune 50 customer roster and was instrumental in expanding Grand Rounds' broad-based clinical navigation capabilities in the market.
At Aon, Mike led the go-to-market efforts of several new, high-growth businesses, including the Aon Active and Retiree Health Exchanges. Mike was also a member of the Aon global Health leadership team, working with many of the firm’s largest clients on strategic health care development and helping to shape Aon’s Health business and solution strategy, including M&A evaluations.
During his years at Hewitt (acquired by Aon), Mike served in a variety of sales and leadership roles. Mike served for several years as one of the firm’s top sales executives, leading market development efforts for Hewitt’s large-market benefits administration services. He also helped launch the HR Business Process Outsourcing business and led national sales prior to Hewitt’s acquisition of Exult. Mike was a founding member of Hewitt’s HR Effectiveness consulting practice, leading sales and consulting efforts on HR technology, transformation, and sourcing strategies.
For the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, Mike has led a generational turnover of executive and staff-level personnel, replacing long-tenured leaders and managing generational knowledge transfer, while recruiting and building a talented and high-performing team. In his role, he also led strategic efforts to transform communication, PR, and development capabilities and developed a plan and team for the long-term renewal of 43 schools. Mike has overseen investment strategy for hundreds of millions of endowments and insurance funds, and managed day to day operations for finance, HR, IT, insurance, and mission and ministry services.
In his various roles, Mike has often served as an industry thought leader, published expert, and frequent speaker.
Mike holds a B.A. in journalism and philosophy from Marquette University and an M.A. in Theology from the Augustine Institute.
